On March 10, 2025, all pewobe volunteers came together for a unique and inspiring event:
“Beyond Borders – Unlocking the Language of Cultures Together with Volunteering”
This gathering provided a platform for volunteers to share their experiences, personal growth, and challenges faced during their time in Germany.
Welcome Speech & Opening
The event started with a warm welcome from Mr. Sören Bollmann, the leader of Kooperationszentrum. He introduced the audience to the centre’s work and its role in supporting volunteers.
Volunteer Stories & Activities
Kooperationszentrum
Two volunteers under Mr. Bollmann’s supervision gave insights into their daily tasks at the office and shared how volunteering has contributed to their personal development.
Local Theatre Volunteers
Volunteers from the local theatre took the stage next, sharing their stories, cultural experiences, and the impact of volunteering in Germany.
Kompetenzteam & pewobe Office Volunteers
The volunteers from Kompetenzteam and pewobe office presented their inspiring journeys. They also introduced the various programs and opportunities available for young people interested in personal and professional development such as Erasmus+ Youth Exchanges or Sommerkamp.
Volunteering Opportunities at pewobe
pewobe provides a range of volunteering programs to empower young people through local solidarity actions. The event highlighted three fully covered opportunities:
- FSJ (Freiwilliges Soziales Jahr)
- BFD (Bundesfreiwilligendienst)
- ESC (European Solidarity Corps)
Most presentations were translated into English, German, and Polish to ensure accessibility for all attendees.
Interactive Storytelling Stations
After a short refreshment break, the event took an interactive turn!
Four stations were set up, where volunteers shared their personal stories in depth and answered audience questions.
Attendees rotated between stations, ensuring they could engage with at least three different stories.
A Successful & Inspiring Event
Thanks to the dedicated presenters and engaged audience, the event was not only well-organized but also a great success!
It was a true celebration of culture, volunteering, and personal growth – proving that borders exist only in our minds!
