Our last Kompetenzteam meeting was about reflection of 2024. What we achieved and went through individually as well as personally. It has been a long year for many of us, hence it was nice to think about our accomplishments and give ourselves credit. The different ways of expression represent us well,

The mentor and 12 members of the youth group, aged 13-21, are part of the German-Polish competence team in Frankfurt (Oder). The group consists of young people from Germany, Poland, and those of Ukrainian and Syrian origin. The project theme directly relates to the region and its unique features. Słubice and Frankfurt (Oder) are renowned for their special location, cooperation, and cultural diversity. The exploration of the region’s history is considered important as it has not been clearly documented before.
Hello! My name is Katharina. I am 22 years old, and I had the amazing opportunity to attend the workshop “Puzzle of Diversity 2.0” in Ceuta, Spain, while doing my internship at the organization pewobe gGmbH in Frankfurt (Oder), Germany.
On December 2, 2024, we hosted a special event as part of the Lebendiger Adventskalender (Living Advent Calendar), tracing diverse Christmas traditions from Europe and beyond.
On November 30th, our volunteering team participated in the annual Ausbildungsmesse (Job Fair) in Frankfurt (Oder). We prepared various materials and games to share information about our organization, pewobe, as well as our group of young volunteers, the Kompetenzteam.
On Wednesday, November 20th, 2024, international volunteers Wojtek Juszkiewicz (European Solidarity Corps) and Paweł Sawicki (Bundesfreiwilligendienst) from pewobe gGmbH in Frankfurt (Oder) participated in an inspiring conference in Warsaw centered on youth engagement and volunteering.
October 22. – Tuesday
We travelled over 6 long hours together from Frankfurt Oder and Slubice to Krakow. Once we arrived, we took a walk to our accommodation where we had a short instruction moment. After taking over our rooms, we went out for dinner. As it was in the old town we had the opportunity to wonder around as well as try out traditional Polish national meals. Following the fulfilling dinner, we continued our exploration in the old town and then we went back to the accommodation.
At the 7th Frankfurt-Słubice Education Forum, held on October 10th, 2024, at the Collegium Polonicum in Słubice, pewobe g GmbH actively promoted opportunities in the European Solidarity Corps (ESC),
September 10, 2024 (Tuesday)
We began our day with breakfast at 8:30 a.m., setting a positive tone for the activities ahead. Shortly after, all delegations gathered at a Cypriot school, where we played a fun game and engaged in discussions on important project-related topics, such as “What’s the most positive thing that has happened in your life?” and “Is peace achievable?”
Morning: Departure to Görlitz
The wonderful German/Polish team of Pewobe g GmbH and Kompetenz team spent two days together to explore the borders cities of Görlitz/Zgorzelec. This project had a particular resonance with the young people familiar to the border situation of Frankfurt (Oder)/Słubice. In the late morning, we met together to the train station of Frankfurt (Oder) to catch the trains to Görlitz. The luck was with us because we did not miss our connected train.
